Scott De Long

Fullfillment

Too often we find ourselves solely focused on dollars and cents. Fueled by transactional relationships and a constant pursuit for an acceptable ROI. Sure. To build a business you need to drive revenue.

But how often have we found ourselves overwhelmed and stressed—find ourselves unintentionally stepping on the people we need as business leaders to help our passion grow?

None of us can do this alone. We cannot exist on an island.

What if I told you there was a better way? What if I told you there was a way to build your business and gain that financial independence you seek, but also include one overlooked but incredibly important component, happiness.

We need OUR people, our business partners, our employees, our friends, and most importantly, our family. Join me as I share my story of transitioning from a command and control to a transformational leader, and the steps, I took to achieve financial independence and build successful businesses all through some simple, but not easy, steps.

Scott De Long is a lifelong learner as well as an educator. In his quest for knowledge, he completed an Executive Leadership program at the prestigious Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley at 45. This experience led him to Chapman University, where he earned a master’s degree in Leadership Development. He recently earned his Doctorate at age 60, also from Chapman University, in Education with an emphasis in Leadership Studies from the Donna Ford Attallah College of Educational Studies.

His educational background allowed him to become an adjunct professor at Chapman University, where he taught courses in two different colleges on campus. In the school of Communication, he taught small group communication and business and professional communication. In the Business school, he taught Intro to Entrepreneurism

Scott grew up as an entrepreneur. He has successfully bootstrapped and exited three previous companies. His fourth, Lead 2 Goals, is dedicated to helping organizations realize their goals through thoughtful implementation of their mission, vision and core values.

Scott’s presence and ability to lead small group communication allow him to disarm the greatest of egos. His methods are set up to create an environment of respect, which in turn leads to the building of trust. These constructs aid in creating better relationships leading to stronger teams.

Scott also just published his first book I Thought I Was A Leader… A Journey To Building Trust, Leading Teams & Inspiring Change. His own aspirational goals include greater Humility, Empathy, and Vulnerability.

Being relentless is one of the ways that both saved and created a life of joy, success and personal growth.

It’s estimated that 16.2 million adults in the United States, or 6.7 percent of American adults, have had at least one major depressive episode in a given year. About 25% seek counseling or therapy.

The good news is that anyone can learn how to thrive despite hardships. I’ll show you how.
